Comorbidity

Comorbidity refers to the co-occurrence of two or more disorders or conditions in an individual. In the context of ADHD, it is common for children and adolescents to have additional neurodevelopmental, mood, or behavioral disorders alongside ADHD. Common comorbidities include autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, anxiety, depression, and conduct disorders. These overlapping conditions can complicate diagnosis and treatment, requiring a comprehensive approach that considers the interplay between multiple disorders. Effective management often involves personalized strategies that address each condition and their combined effects.
